South Korean Singer Wheesung Passes Away, Found Unconscious in His Apartment

 Secondupdate.com - South Korean singer Wheesung was found dead in his apartment in Seoul on Monday (March 10).

According to a report by Yonhap News, he was discovered unconscious at approximately 6:29 PM local time by emergency responders after his mother called for help.

Earlier, Wheesung was scheduled to meet with his manager but could not be reached. Concerned, his mother, who lived in the same apartment, decided to check on him and found her son unconscious.

Wheesung's agency, Tajo Entertainment, confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that the singer suffered a cardiac arrest at his home.

In an official statement, Tajo Entertainment expressed deep sorrow over Wheesung’s passing.

"We are deeply saddened to share this heartbreaking and tragic news. Our artist, Wheesung, passed away on March 10. He was found in cardiac arrest at his home in Seoul and was later pronounced dead," the statement read.

The agency also urged the public not to spread rumors or speculation regarding Wheesung's sudden passing, hoping that he could rest in peace.

"The bereaved family, fellow artists, and staff at Tajo Entertainment are all mourning this sudden and painful loss with heavy hearts.

As the bereaved family is in deep shock and grief, we sincerely ask that unverified rumors and speculative reports be avoided," a representative from Tajo Entertainment stated.

Wheesung began his music career in 2002 and became known for hit songs such as With Me and his remake of Craig David’s Insomnia. His unique singing style earned him a large fan base.

However, in 2021, his career was briefly shaken by a propofol abuse case. Wheesung was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years of probation.

Before his passing, he was scheduled to hold a concert with singer KCM on March 15 in Daegu, South Korea.

Many fellow artists have expressed their sorrow over Wheesung's passing. Rapper Verbal Jint posted a black image on Instagram as a tribute, while singer Yun Min-soo shared a nostalgic video of their performance together.

On social media, fans also left touching messages. One fan wrote about their admiration for Wheesung.

Five days before his passing, Wheesung made his last Instagram post announcing his upcoming concert.

His passing leaves a deep sorrow for his family, fans, and the South Korean music industry.
