As of Saturday (March 1), the film ranked 7th on the global box office chart, even surpassing the earnings of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The film first entered the top 10 highest-grossing films worldwide on February 17, just 20 days after its release on January 29, coinciding with the 2025 Chinese New Year.

According to data from the ticketing platform Maoyan, as of Saturday at 1:50 PM local time, Ne Zha 2's global earnings, including pre-sales, had reached 14.2 billion yuan (approximately 1.98 billion USD).

This achievement makes Ne Zha 2 the first film to earn over 1 billion USD in a single market and the first non-Hollywood film to enter the list of movies with earnings exceeding 1 billion USD.

The film also surpassed Disney's Inside Out 2 to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

As a sequel to Ne Zha (2019), Ne Zha 2 once again brings to life the story of the famous Chinese mythological figure.
