Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Set to Premiere on Prime Video in April 2025

Secondupdate.com – The latest installment in the Gundam franchise, titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (Jīkuakusu), is set to premiere on Prime Video on April 8, 2025.

Keisuke Oishi, Prime Video Japan’s Manager, expressed his excitement about bringing this series to fans. The year 2025 is particularly special as it marks the 46th anniversary of Gundam and the 30th anniversary of Evangelion.

The series is a collaboration between Studio Khara (the creators of Evangelion) and SUNRISE (the studio behind the Gundam franchise).

"We are thrilled to present Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX to our Prime Video members in this special year, celebrating both the 46th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and the 30th anniversary of the Evangelion franchise," said Keisuke Oishi, Prime Video Japan’s Manager.

The story follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school girl living a peaceful life in a space colony. However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters a war refugee girl who drags her into an illegal mobile suit duel competition known as Clan Battle.

Using the alias MACHU, Amate fights in battles piloting GQuuuuuuX. Meanwhile, she crosses paths with Shuuji, the pilot of a mysterious Gundam being hunted by both the military and space police. From this encounter, the world prepares to enter a new era.

The series features many renowned figures in the anime industry, including:

• Ikuto Yamashita (Design Developer, Evangelion)

Prior to its official release, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX-Beginning- was first screened in Japanese theaters in January 2025. The film was also released in various countries, including the U.S., Australia, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Director Kazuya Tsurumaki expressed his pride in helming this major project.
