Secondupdate.com – Former Suits star Meghan Markle has revealed that she now uses the last name Sussex after marrying Prince Harry.

This was revealed in an episode of With Love, Meghan on Netflix, which aired on March 4. In the show, actress Mindy Kaling repeatedly called her Meghan Markle.

"It's so funny that you keep calling me Meghan Markle, you know my last name is Sussex now," Meghan said, as reported by E! News on Wednesday (March 5) local time.

Since their wedding in 2018, Meghan and Harry were given the titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth II. From then on, they adopted Sussex as their family name, similar to how Prince William and Kate Middleton use Wales after receiving the titles Prince and Princess of Wales.

For Meghan, who was born Rachel Meghan Markle, this surname change did not seem significant at first. However, after becoming a mother to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, she began to feel that sharing the same last name as her children was important.

"When you have kids, you start thinking, 'No, I need to share the same last name as my children,’" she said.

"I didn’t realize how much this would mean to me before, but it just happened. This is our little family name," Meghan added.

She also mentioned that the name Sussex has become very meaningful to her because it represents her love story with Prince Harry.
