Secondupdate.com – The 97th Academy Awards, or the 2025 Oscars, featured a special tribute to the legendary James Bond films.

Three renowned singers—Lisa from BLACKPINK, Doja Cat, and Raye—along with actress Margaret Qualley, performed a medley of iconic James Bond songs. Their performance combined singing and dancing in a spectacular and lively show.

According to Variety, the performance began with Margaret Qualley dancing to the James Bond theme song. Lisa from BLACKPINK then descended from the ceiling and performed Live and Let Die, the theme song from the 1973 James Bond film.

As female dancers in red dresses and men in suits moved gracefully on stage, Lisa raised her hand to the sky, passing the spotlight to Doja Cat, who then sang the classic Diamonds Are Forever from the 1971 Bond film.

Raye completed the performance with a stunning rendition of Skyfall, the popular theme song from the 2012 James Bond film. Dressed elegantly in a black-and-white gown, she sang alongside a grand orchestral arrangement.

On the red carpet, Raye expressed her pride in performing alongside Lisa and Doja Cat.

James Bond films have been a hot topic recently, not only because of the Oscars tribute but also due to major news surrounding the franchise.

Previously, James Bond’s lead producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, sold their shares in EON Productions—the company that has long controlled the creative direction of the James Bond films—to Amazon.

In November, both producers received the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award for their contributions to the film industry.

James Bond films have won several Academy Awards over the years, including:

  • Goldfinger (1964) – Best Sound Effects

  • Thunderball (1965) – Best Special Visual Effects

  • Skyfall (2012) – Best Sound Editing (shared with Zero Dark Thirty)

Additionally, James Bond theme songs have frequently won Oscars, such as:

  • Skyfall (Adele, 2012)

  • Spectre (Sam Smith, 2015)

  • No Time to Die (Billie Eilish, 2021)

With this special tribute at the 2025 Oscars, James Bond’s legacy as a cinematic icon continues to be honored and celebrated.
