Lady Gaga Reveals the Romantic Moment That Inspired the Song 'Blade of Grass'

Secondupdate.com - Lady Gaga recently revealed the inspiration behind her latest song, Blade of Grass, which will be featured on her upcoming album Mayhem, set for release on March 7, 2025.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music on Wednesday (March 5), Gaga shared that a romantic moment with her fiancé, Michael Polansky, was the main source of inspiration for writing the song.

The Abracadabra singer recounted that one day, Polansky asked her about her dream proposal. Gaga replied that she simply wanted him to pick a blade of grass and wrap it around her finger.

"As a songwriter, you need life to inspire your writing, and if everything is just promotion, then I would write about promotion, and I wouldn’t write about the special moment I shared with you when Michael asked me how I would want him to propose to me someday," Gaga said, as quoted in People.

Lady Gaga, who has won 14 Grammy Awards, also shared her thoughts on how fame has impacted her life and career.

"I had to fight harder to make music and dance later in my career because my life became so different that I didn’t have much life around me to inspire me," she said.

However, her fiancé has given her the motivation to continue growing as an artist.

Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky first started dating in 2020 and got engaged in early 2024.
