Secondupdate.com – G-Dragon’s latest album, Übermensch, has received an overwhelming response from fans. Since its release on February 25, 2025, the album has immediately set new records with astonishing sales figures.
According to a report from RaoNews, Galaxy Corporation management confirmed that Übermensch sold 639,176 copies in just one day. This number far surpasses the record set by his 2017 mini-album Kwon Ji Yong, which sold only 46,397 copies in its first 24 hours.
Not only has the album achieved massive physical sales, but its performance on digital platforms is equally impressive.
Two days after its release, Übermensch topped the iTunes Top Album Charts in over 28 countries, including Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, France, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, and the United Arab Emirates.
In South Korea, the album also dominated the Melon Top 100 chart. The title track TOO BAD secured the No. 1 spot, replacing HOME SWEET HOME, which had held the top position for several weeks.
Other songs from the album also made it onto the charts, such as TAKE ME at No. 12, POWER at No. 23, along with several other tracks that climbed the rankings.
Übermensch marks G-Dragon’s third studio album, released 12 years after COUP D'ETAT. Interestingly, for this album, G-Dragon collaborated once again with EMPIRE, a Palestinian record label founded by Ghazi Shami.
EMPIRE is known for its strong stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, especially in light of the ongoing genocide in the region. Ghazi Shami stated that this collaboration was formed due to their shared vision of using music to amplify humanitarian messages.
The success of Übermensch proves that G-Dragon remains a dominant force in the global music industry.
After years of anticipation, his comeback has truly made a groundbreaking impact, welcomed with excitement by fans worldwide.
