Blake Lively Returns to Action in the Sequel 'Another Simple Favor'

Secondupdate.com – Actress Blake Lively is finally back on screen, reconnecting with her fans through the sequel Another Simple Favor.

Despite her ongoing legal issues with Justin Baldoni, her co-star in It Ends With Us, Lively received a warm welcome when she attended the premiere of Another Simple Favor at the SXSW Film and TV Festival in Austin, Texas.

According to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday (March 7), Lively appeared at the Paramount Theatre alongside her co-star Anna Kendrick, director Paul Feig, and other cast members such as Andrew Rannells, Elizabeth Perkins, and Alex Newell.

Director Paul Feig revealed that he loved the characters in the film and found the story compelling enough to continue.

"I really love these characters and thought they would be a lot of fun to revisit," Feig said during a post-screening Q&A session about making the sequel.

Meanwhile, Lively admitted that her role as Emily Nelson in this film is one of her favorite characters to play.

“My favorite character that I’ve ever been lucky enough to play,” she said.

Another Simple Favor is set to premiere on Amazon’s streaming service on May 1, 2025. The sequel continues the story of the 2018 film A Simple Favor, which was a massive success, grossing $97 million at the global box office.

In the new film, Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) travel to the island of Capri, Italy, to attend Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy businessman. However, the celebration soon turns into a thrilling mystery filled with murder and betrayal.

Feig promised that the second film would be even more exciting and suspenseful than the first.

Anna Kendrick also expressed her enthusiasm for the film, despite her character once again facing off against her best friend, who happens to be a murderer.

In addition to Another Simple Favor, Amazon is set to release several other films in 2025, including The Accountant 2, starring Ben Affleck, and the thriller Holland, directed by Nicole Kidman.
