Secondupdate.com – Director Yeon Sang-ho, known for Train to Busan and Hellbound, is returning with his latest film project titled Colony (Korean title: Gunche).

The film began shooting in March 2025 and features a star-studded cast, including Jun Ji-hyun, Ji Chang-wook, Koo Kyo-hwan, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo.

Colony tells the story of a building that is suddenly placed under lockdown due to an outbreak of a mysterious virus. Those infected by the virus begin to transform into unexpected forms, threatening the survivors still trapped inside.

Although details of the plot remain under wraps, Colony is being hailed as the latest zombie thriller and the pinnacle of Yeon Sang-ho's cinematic universe, following his works Train to Busan and its sequel, Peninsula.

This film marks Jun Ji-hyun’s return to the big screen after a decade-long absence since Assassination (2015). Meanwhile, Ji Chang-wook is collaborating with Yeon Sang-ho for the first time in this project. Actor Go Soo will also make a special appearance, adding to the film’s appeal.

Yeon Sang-ho expressed his excitement about starting production with his team and the talented cast.

"I am very excited, and I stand at the starting line with great anticipation. Please show a lot of interest and look forward to it," he said.

Currently, Colony is still in production, and further details regarding its release date will be announced later.
