Secondupdate.com – Girl group ILLIT, under the management of Belift Lab and HYBE Labels, continues to prove their popularity on the international music scene, especially in Japan.
Their debut song, Magnetic, has achieved double platinum certification from the Japan Record Association. This certification was awarded after the song surpassed 200 million streams in January 2025. This achievement is remarkable, considering that Magnetic was released only 10 months ago!
Previously, Magnetic had already earned platinum certification just three months after its release, meaning it had been streamed over 100 million times in Japan within a short period. This makes ILLIT the fastest girl group—both among Japanese and international groups—to reach this milestone.
Not only that, but the popularity of Wonhee, Moka, Minju, Iroha, and Yunah in Japan has been further recognized after they won the Best New Artist Award at the 66th Japan Record Awards. ILLIT is the first K-pop girl group in 13 years to take home this prestigious award.
To further capture the hearts of Japanese fans, ILLIT also released the song Almond Chocolate, which was featured as the OST of a popular Japanese film. The song received an overwhelming response and quickly soared up the AWA Music and Spotify charts. Interestingly, it's rare for a K-pop group that hasn't officially debuted in Japan to be chosen for a movie soundtrack!
With these incredible achievements, ILLIT continues to establish itself as a rookie girl group not to be underestimated. Will they continue breaking new records? Let’s wait and see!
