Secondupdate.com - Copyright laws in the UK are set to undergo changes. These regulations would allow tech companies to use creators' works to train artificial intelligence (AI) models.

As quoted from a Billboard report, the UK government is considering a policy that would enable tech companies to use creators' works to train AI models.

Upon hearing this, Paul McCartney spoke out. According to him, this regulation could "rob" artists and lead to the loss of creativity. Furthermore, AI is known as an artificial intelligence that can work automatically.

"There are young men and women coming up, and they're writing beautiful songs, and they don't own it, and they have nothing to do with it. And anyone who wants it can steal it," McCartney said.

"Actually, the money is going to go somewhere. Someone gets paid, so why not the person who sits down and writes 'Yesterday'?" he added.

On the other hand, the UK Labour Party government has stated its ambition to make the UK a global leader in AI. However, Paul McCartney emphasized that the government should protect the people.

"We are the people, you are the government. You should protect us. It's your job," McCartney said.

"If you put forward a bill, make sure you protect creative thinkers, creative artists, or you won't get them," he added.
