Song Hye Kyo Calls the Film Dark Nuns Special, What's the Reason?

Secondupdate.com - Song Hye Kyo returns to the big screen with the film Dark Nuns, a role she has eagerly anticipated. In a talk show on YouTube Fairy Jaehyung, she admitted that she often receives similar roles.

Because of this, Song Hye Kyo feels excited about Dark Nuns, as it allows her to step out of her comfort zone. According to her, playing similar characters can make the audience grow tired of seeing her in the same roles.

"Romantic comedy and melodrama series I acted in before were successful, so I kept getting similar roles. But honestly, it hasn’t been that long since female lead characters in dramas became more diverse," said Song Hye Kyo.

When offered the role in Dark Nuns, Song Hye Kyo immediately accepted it because the character was unlike any she had portrayed before.

"Dark Nuns is only my second project in a different genre. In the future, there will be more," she concluded.

On the other hand, Dark Nuns has been in theaters since January 24, 2025. As a sequel to The Priests (2015), this marks Song Hye Kyo's first release of the year.

Additionally, Song Hye Kyo received praise during the filming process. In this movie, she plays Sister Junisa, who strives to save a child tormented by a demon.

"Every word, expression, and gaze from Song Hye Kyo as Sister Junisa adds a visual charm to the film," praised director Kwon Hyuk Jae regarding the performance of the The Glory actress.
